The lawmaker representing Owo/Ose Federal Constituency at the House of Reps Abuja, Hon. (Dr.) Timehin Adelegbe has felicitated Christians on this year Easter celebration. He made this known today in Abuja through his media aide, Wale Akingbade.
He observed that the major significance of Easter is it’s promise of renewal and redemption for mankind, as well as the lessons of peace, love, selflessness and sacrifice for the common good of everyone.
The lawmaker-elect, equally noted that this yearās Easter comes in the midst of unique and historic elections that has consolidated progressivesm and further deepens democratic governance in the country and urged Nigerians, Christians and non-Christians to seize the opportunity of the season to reflect on it’s lessons, forsake hate, ethnic jingoism, violence, and embrace peace and unity for the successful conclusion of the elections.
He used the opportunity to urge both Christians and Muslims preachers to utilise their pulpits to preach peace and harmony, so that children of both faiths will grow up as brothers, sisters and friends.
The Okeluse born politician thanked members of his constituency and his teeming supporters for turning out in their large numbers to give him the mandate for the second time as their representative at the green chamber in the March 18, Presidential and National Assembly elections.
He said that he is determined to do more in giving his constituency the desire developmental programmes and welfare packages.
“There are numerous lessons in the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, that will help us in the renewal of our faith and redemption as a followers of Christ.
“This year Easter celebration comes just after the country conducted one of the most free, credible and peaceful elections that brought in Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the President-elect and other elected officers across the States which has further contributed immensely to the progress and deepens our democracy.
“I urge everyone to allow peace and forsake hate, shun tribalism and ensue harmony as this is the only way to move our country forward.
“Let me appreciate members of my constituency for their choice in electing me the second time to the House of Reps. I’m determined to bring more developmental programmes that will surpass my first term in office” he added.
Hon. Adelegbe assured the constituents that he will work to fulfil all his campaign promises in the next four years in office.
