SENATOR-ELECT of the Osun Central senatorial district, Ajagunla Olubiyi Fadeyi, has urged Muslim faithful to pray for the peace and progess our dear country, Nigeria as Ramadan commences today.
In a statement available to newsmen in Ila-Orangun on Thursday, the London School of Economics and Political Science alumni, Ajagunla Fadeyi, urged Muslim faithful to use the Ramadan fasting period to pray for peace and progress of Nigeria.
Ajagunla Fadeyi said “We are called to pray like rain, to pour our spirits into the soil of humility as we plant our heads in prostration upon the ground of faith. In prayer, we water the earth of our existence with the cleansing, pure water of God’s own words. Therefore, a period like this which is globally revered should be utilised by Muslim faithful across the nation to pray for progress and peace.
“When Ramadan arrives, the gates of paradise are opened and the gates of hell are locked, while the devil and his demons are put in chains. Muslims should therefore, devote more time to prayer, acts of charity and strive to improve their self-discipline, motivated by hadith.
“I pray to Almighty Allah to accept all our acts of worship in this blessed month and reward us all abundantly. I also pray that all individuals’ and collective pleas shall receive speedy answer from the Almighty,” Ajagunla prays.
