Iran plans to retaliate against Israel following an alleged attack involving booby-trapped pagers targeting its members, including its ambassador to Beirut, Mojtaba Amani, and members of Hezbollah, according to MTV Lebanon News.
The report, citing an official from the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), stated that instructions were given to inspect officials’ phones before returning them and to keep their phones away from them as a precaution.
The Saudi-owned Al-Hadath news agency had previously reported that the cyberattack resulted in the deaths of 19 IRGC members and left over 150 injured in Syria.
Both Hezbollah and the Lebanese government have blamed Israel for the attacks.
An IRGC official added that they expect a response against Israel in the coming days.
