The National Lottery Trust Fund (NLTF) has praised the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for recovering over N9 billion in debts owed to the Fund. NLTF’s Executive Secretary/CEO, Tosin Adeyanju, led a management team on a courtesy visit to EFCC’s corporate headquarters to express gratitude.
Adeyanju described the recovery as a “big feat” that has enabled the Fund to support the federal government’s infrastructure development initiatives.
He commended EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyede for his leadership and commitment to anti-corruption efforts, highlighting the recovery of over N200 billion and $58 million in looted funds within 10 months.
Olukoyede acknowledged the collaboration between NLTF and EFCC, emphasizing the importance of sustaining recovery efforts to ensure the Fund’s interventions in various areas of need. He advised Adeyanju to remain focused and mindful of his legacy, ensuring transparent and conscientious application of funds.
The EFCC Chairman assured the delegation of continued collaboration in debt recovery, stating it as a statutory obligation.
He reiterated the Commission’s commitment to recovering funds for the government and relevant agencies, without allocating or misappropriating recovered loot.
