Paul Ibe, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has criticized FCT Minister Nyesom Wike following Wike’s declaration that he would stay in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and fight rather than join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). Ibe responded to Wike’s statement on Thursday, suggesting that if Wike’s fight were for the betterment of the party, it would be commendable.
Wike had expressed his determination to remain in the PDP and fight against what he referred to as “vampires” within the party, asserting that he has been transparent about his political stance. He also highlighted his past openness about not supporting the PDP’s presidential candidate.
In his reaction on X, Ibe argued that while fighting is important, it matters what one is fighting for. He drew an analogy, stating, “A son who stands by while his father is insulted without defending him is not a true son. Only a prodigal son would betray his father’s legacy, and only a Judas Iscariot would sell his Master for thirty pieces of silver.”
