The Ondo State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) has distanced itself from a circulating interview invitation on social media and WhatsApp.
It can be recalled that Ondo TESCOM began the recruitment of 1,000 teachers into secondary schools in the state in April. An online-based test was conducted for applicants on Thursday and Friday, 23rd and 24th May 2024.
Recently, The Hope observed a WhatsApp message inviting applicants to attend a screening exercise.
The message, titled “TESCOM RECRUITMENT SCREENING/INTERVIEW,” reads: “Ondo State Teaching Service Commission has scheduled a screening/interview for applicants into teaching positions in secondary schools in the state on a senatorial basis:
Wednesday, 14/08/2024 – Northern Zone – Victory College, Ikare Akoko;
Thursday, 15/08/2024 – Southern Zone – Stella Maris College, Okitipupa;
Friday, 16/08/2024 – Central Zone – Fiwasaye Girls’ Grammar School, Akure.”
When contacted, the Head of Press and Public Relations Unit of Ondo TESCOM, Akinyomi Goodluck, told The Hope that the information did not originate from his office.
He said that TESCOM had not set any date for the interview.
“When there is an official date, the office will announce it to the media, but for now, there is no information,” he said.
