In 2019, an Australian TV host made headlines with his belief that his 4-year-old son might be the reincarnation of the late Princess Diana. David Campbell shared this extraordinary claim in a column for Stellar magazine, revealing that his son, Billy, insists he “used to be the princess.” The story recently gained renewed attention after resurfacing on Instagram.
Billy Campbell, son of Australian television personality David Campbell, apparently started claiming he was Princess Diana when he was two and could recall some of her memories
A young lad who shocked his family after claiming he was Princess Diana reincarnated first came to the realisation when he saw a photo of the late royal.
Australian television personality David Campbell previously opened up about his son Billy’s bizarre assertion.
Writing in Stellar Magazine in 2019, David said Billy started professing to be Lady Di when he was two-years-old. He apparently remained convinced of it for a further two years.
He wrote, “This is going to be the strangest column I have ever written, so bear with me.”
“Our youngest, Billy, is 4. Since the age of about 2 and a half, he has shared several tales that at first seemed silly.”
“Over time, he provided more information, and now we don’t know what to make of it.”
“You see, Billy believes he was once Princess Diana.”
He said, it all began when someone gave his wife Lisa a card with Diana on it.
Two-year-old Billy pointed at the image and gave an eerie eight-word response: “Look! It’s me when I was a princess.”
Even weirder still, Billy was seemingly aware of Prince William and Prince Harry too.
Campbell insists that Billy has no knowledge of the royal family, but the unsettling claims continued. David later overheard Billy talking about his two “boys,”
David wrote his son started to talk about “his two boys”. He said: “When asked what boys, our then three-year-old would say his ‘sons’. Ok… strange, but sure, mate.”
As bizarre as it seemed, Billy went on to share more intimate details of Princess Diana’s life, even mentioning that he had brothers and sisters, including a brother named John. Campbell and his wife initially thought Billy was mistaken, but later discovered that Diana indeed had a brother named John, who died as an infant before she was born.
The story takes an eerie twist when Campbell recounts a moment that left them stunned.
And that wasn’t the end of it. David said his son told a Scottish friend of theirs that he was Diana and explained “he used to go to a castle in that kilted wonderland”. Billy apparently claimed the castle had “unicorns on it” and said it “was called Balmoral”.
David wrote: “The unicorn is the national animal of Scotland and there are unicorns on the walls, how does he know this?”
The most spooky moment came when Billy referred to Diana’s death in Paris in 1997. After being shown another picture he apparently said: “Then one day the sirens came and I wasn’t a princess any more.”
David asked: “Here is a child with no knowledge whatsoever of the monarchy. How could he?”
Concluding the column he said: “Will Billy grow up and never remember this? Could he actually be the reincarnated essence of the People’s Princess?”
Since the 2019 declaration it appears the boy hasn’t said anything else about the reincarnation.
