Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
The combination of economic fragility and national insecurity is deadly for any nation. When a countryโs minister for youth is weak, unattractive for ideas and prone to shocks with little resilience, the last thing it needs is to be gripped by violence.
Lack of youths engagement would, to say the least, cripple that countryโs economy.
Sadly, thatโs Nigeriaโs situation today. By common consent, Nigeriaโs economy is extremely weak and volatile, entirely susceptible to the vagaries of world oil prices and the predilections of foreign investors. Yet, its policy and regulatory environments are acutely unattractive for private investment and business growth. To make matters worse, Nigeria faces multiple, almost perpetual, threats from organised non-state violence.
For the minister of Youths to say she wants to engage in town hall meeting during this perilous time shows that the she is insensitive to the happenings in the society. What do you even expect from an irresponsible, irresponsive individual who has zero experience about governance and who is habitually lazy and indolent.
That Ondo state didn’t join the nation wide protest did not mean that the youths of the state are happy with the lackadaisical attitude of the government, minister of youths.
Her engagement with youths this time around shows that she is just chasing her Shadow. We refused to be bamboozle.
