Nigerian comedian Aphrican Ace and his wife are grieving the loss of their premature baby, Zion Ayomikun Blue Olatunde, who passed away after a battle in intensive care. The comedian shared the heartbreaking news on Instagram, noting that Zion was due in October but was born early at 26 weeks on July 2nd.
Despite the premature birth, they remained hopeful and held a baby shower on July 27th. Tragically, the next day, Zion contracted a bacterial infection, leading to a rapid decline in his health.
“Zion Ayomikun Blue Olatunde… you were due in October, but you arrived early at 26 weeks on July 2nd,” Aphrican Ace wrote. “You were doing well, so we had your baby shower on July 27th. Then, on July 28th, we got a call about a bacterial infection… and from there, it quickly went downhill.”
Despite efforts from doctors and the couple’s hope, Zion passed away on August 1st with his parents by his side. Aphrican Ace expressed their deep pain but also their faith in God’s plan, believing that greater things are in store.
The couple is now transitioning from planning for Zion’s homecoming to making funeral arrangements. Their story has resonated widely, drawing support and prayers from fans and loved ones. Aphrican Ace holds onto the belief that all things work together for good for those who love God, trusting they will be reunited with their son one day.
