Authorities are investigating the death of a man who lost consciousness while being subdued by police on Long Island. Suffolk County police responded to a 911 call about an apparently intoxicated man in Wyandanch on Thursday morning.
When officers arrived, they found the man agitated and partially unclothed, banging on a business window. After the police subdued and handcuffed him, he became unresponsive.
Despite efforts by officers and rescue workers to perform CPR, the man was pronounced dead at the hospital. His identity has not been released.
The New York State Attorney General’s office, along with Suffolk County homicide detectives and internal affairs officers, are conducting investigations into the incident.
