Abia State Governor Dr. Alex Otti is set to flag off, Abia Medical Village, aiming to turn Abia into a hub for medical tourism.
He announced this on July 21 during a visit by the US-based Extended Hands of Grace and Lifted Hands team.
Otti emphasized the importance of healthcare in Abia’s economy and noted the medical village would emulate Dubai’s medical city.
He aims to reverse medical tourism trends, targeting 10% of the $2-2.5 billion spent annually by Nigerians abroad.
The governor thanked the visiting medical team and assured them of future support.
Key government officials joined him in welcoming the team.
