Real Madrid star Vinicius Jr. refused to listen to a mouthwatering $53 million a season offer from Paris Saint-Germain according to OK Diario, which cited anonymous sources.
RMC in France reported that PSG was attentive to Vinicius’ case, which could develop amid the arrival of its ex-forward Kylian Mbappe at the Bernabeu.
Vinicius, who is being tipped for the Ballon d’Or which Mbappe longs to lift himself, could potentially be a positional rival for the Frenchman considering they both have a preference for the left wing.
El Nacional reported how Vinicius told PSG he would wait to see how things pan out with Mbappe, and possibly negotiate a move to the French capital from its Spanish counterpart a year from now if they take a turn for the worse.
Yet according to OK Diario, the Brazilian is not interested in even listening to what the Qatar-backed Ligue 1 giants have to say about a package which it alleges would have made Vinicius the highest-paid footballer in the world.
PSG was willing to offer Vinicius $53.6 million (€50 million) a season on a five-year deal, while he would also be in line to receive fixed variables and retain 100% of his image rights.
OK Diario writes that Vinicius “only thinks in white”, however, and doesn’t consider leaving Los Blancos “neither for 50 nor 500 million euros,” according to an anonymous sources.
He has therefore instructed his agents not to listen to offers from PSG or any other interested party. And rather than seeing Mbappe as a threat, he is instead “counting the days” to play alongside him.
Also forgotten in all this is Madrid’s willingness to sell, which is presumably an echo of how little Vinicius wants to move on too.
As its number 7 has a contract until mid-2027, Madrid wouldn’t let its winger go cheap and PSG might have to smash the world transfer record to make a switch happen.
