It was a great privilege for the Ekiti Youth Parliament to welcome Vice President Kashim Shettima to Ekiti State yesterday. His visit marked the inauguration of several significant projects aimed at boosting the state’s economy. These initiatives were facilitated by the Honorable Commissioner for Trade, Investment, and Cooperatives, Mrs. Tayo Adeola, under the visionary leadership of Governor Biodun Oyebanji. The primary goal of these projects is to promote entrepreneurship, foster innovation, and ensure sustainable development across the state.
One of the key highlights of the Vice President’s visit was the flagging off of the 3rd Extended National MSME Clinics Ekiti 2024. This initiative, launched in collaboration between the Office of the Vice President and the Ekiti State Government, is poised to empower numerous small businesses and entrepreneurs within the state. By stimulating innovation and job creation, the MSME Clinics are expected to significantly contribute to the economic growth and resilience of Ekiti. This program is a testament to the government’s dedication to nurturing the entrepreneurial spirit of our people, providing them with the tools and resources needed to succeed in today’s competitive market.
We also want to extend our heartfelt appreciation to Governor Oyebanji for his unwavering commitment to creating an environment conducive to business growth in Ekiti State. His dedication to fostering a vibrant economic landscape is truly commendable. Under his leadership, Ekiti has seen a remarkable transformation, with policies and initiatives that encourage investment and development. The governor’s proactive approach has set a solid foundation for sustainable economic progress.
In addition to the Vice President, we were honored to receive Hon. Dele Alake, the Minister of Solid Minerals, and Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, the Senate Leader. Their presence underscored the importance of the inaugurated projects, which include the Ekiti State Entrepreneurship Development Centre, the MSME Marketplace, and the Ekiti State Investment Promotion Agency. Each of these projects represents a significant step forward in our collective effort to enhance economic opportunities and development within Ekiti State. The Entrepreneurship Development Centre will serve as a hub for aspiring entrepreneurs, offering training, mentorship, and support to help them turn their ideas into viable businesses. The MSME Marketplace will provide a platform for small businesses to showcase their products and services, facilitating greater market access and growth opportunities. The Investment Promotion Agency will attract both local and international investors, further driving economic development and creating jobs.
Congratulations to Governor Oyebanji, Commissioner Adeola, and the youths of Ekiti State on this outstanding achievement. These projects not only reflect the progressive vision of our leadership but also the potential and promise of our state’s future. We look forward to witnessing the positive impact these initiatives will have on our community and economy, driving us towards a more prosperous and innovative Ekiti State.
