The letter reads;
Urgent Reminder of Your Commitments to the Youths and Students of Owo/Ose Federal Constituency
I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to draw your attention to the promises made to the youths and students of our constituency, Owo/Ose Federal Constituency, and to urge you to take immediate action on these commitments.
On October 15, 2022, during a joint meeting at the Royal Parklane Hotel, Ijapo Akure, with representatives from the Ose Students’ Association of Nigeria (OSESAN) and the Owo Local Government Area Students’ Union (OLGASU), you assured us that the welfare of youths and students would be included in the 2023 budget. However, as we approach the mid-year mark of 2024, we have yet to see any tangible implementation of these promises. This delay is causing considerable concern among the youth and student populace, who feel increasingly overlooked and neglected.
Furthermore, during your campaign for a second term, you publicly announced a digital registration for bursary awards for students from your constituency. This initiative was met with great enthusiasm and hope. Regrettably, since the registration, there has been no follow-up or communication regarding the disbursement of these bursaries. This lack of progress has left many students in a state of uncertainty and disappointment, exacerbating their financial hardships and affecting their academic pursuits.
The youths and students of Owo/Ose Federal Constituency are a vital segment of our community. They are not only the future leaders but also crucial stakeholders in the present governance and political landscape. Their active involvement and well-being are essential for the sustainable development and progress of our constituency. Ensuring their welfare and supporting their educational aspirations are critical steps toward harnessing their potential for the collective good of our society.
We also recall that Hon. Oluwaseun A. Ogunniyi, the convener of Adelegbe Youths Support Group (AYSG), repeatedly assured the youths and students during the electioneering period that our representative believes in youth and student inclusiveness. It is disappointing that these assurances have not yet translated into action.
It is, therefore, with a sense of urgency and profound concern that I call upon you to honor the commitments made. Immediate action on the following would be greatly appreciated:
1. *Inclusion of Youth and Student Welfare in the 2024 Budget:* Ensure that the promised provisions for youth and student welfare are implemented without further delay.
2. *Disbursement of Bursary Awards:* Expedite the process of awarding the bursaries to eligible students who have been registered since your campaign promise.
Your attention to these matters will not only fulfill your promises but also restore confidence and trust among the youths and students of our constituency. We believe in your leadership and are hopeful that you will act swiftly to address these pressing issues.
Thank you for your understanding and anticipated cooperation.
Yours sincerely,
Pe
