A turbocharger consists of two main components:
1. Turbine:
   – Composed of:
       – Turbine wheel (connected to the exhaust gas inlet)
       – Turbine housing
   – Function: Utilizes exhaust gas energy to drive the turbine wheel
2. Compressor:
   – Composed of:
       – Compressor wheel (connected to the turbine wheel via a shared shaft)
       – Compressor housing
   – Function: Draws in air, compresses it, and supplies it to the engine’s intake system
Additional components:
– Shaft: Connects the turbine and compressor wheels, allowing them to rotate together
– Bearings: Support the shaft and allow smooth rotation
– Seals: Prevent oil leaks and maintain pressure
– Oil supply: Lubricates the bearings and cools the turbocharger
– Coolant supply: Cools the turbocharger (in some designs)
Construction materials:
– Turbine wheel and shaft: High-strength, heat-resistant materials like Inconel or titanium
– Compressor wheel: Aluminum or titanium
– Housing: Cast iron, aluminum, or stainless steel
Note: The specific design and materials may vary depending on the turbocharger manufacturer and application.
