The National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, Ondo JCC Axis executives, earlier today, embarked on a series of familiarisation visits aimed at fostering cooperation and collaboration with key institutions within Ondo State.
The NANS Ondo JCC Executives were received by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Finance, Pastor Abiodun Akinseloyin, who warmly welcomed the NANS Executives.
The Permanent Secretary briefed the team on the ministry’s initiatives and efforts to enhance the state’s financial management and economic development. He also addressed concerns and questions from the students, providing valuable insights into the state’s budgetary processes and fiscal policies. The Permanent Secretary also talked about the functions and operations of the Ministry in relation to student affairs.
The NANS Ondo JCC Chairman, Comrade Oluwarotimi Tobiloba Joshua, JOSH, in reaction, expressed his gratitude for the warm reception, addressing how the relationship between NANS Ondo and the Ministry of Finance, fostering a collaborative environment for future engagements and advocacy. He hereby looks forward for a cordial relationship amongst the Ministry and NANS Ondo JCC.
In the same vein, the NANS Ondo JCC Executives proceeded to the Ondo State Security Network (Amotekun) Headquarters at Alagbaka Akure, Ondo State. They were received by the Ondo State Commander General of Amotekun Corps, Commander Adetunji Adeleye, who cordially welcomed them.
The Commander briefed the team on the security agency’s objectives, operations, and achievements in maintaining law and order in Ondo State. He also highlighted the importance of collaboration between security agencies and the student community in ensuring a safe and secure environment. Emphasizing in furtherance, he added that the collaboration between the past administration of NANS Ondo JCC Executives and his Amotekun Network were very cordial, and maintaining the status quo of working together. However, he urged the present administration of the need to collaborate with the Security Network in fostering security awareness and crime prevention in campuses and communities.
In reaction, the NANS Ondo JCC Chairman, Comrade Oluwarotimi Tobiloba Joshua, JOSH, appreciated and commended the Amotekun Corps for their efforts in combating crime and criminality in the state. He also reiterated NANS’ commitment in partnering with the Corps to promote peace and security in their respectful campuses and communities.
In attendance were the NANS Ondo JCC Vice Chairmen; Comrade Oladapo Oluwatobi, T-Black, (Special Duties); Comrade Samuel Mercy, (Malaika), (Inter-Campus), Comrade Afe Samson, Afesa, (Academics). Others were, the AGS of the association, Comrade Ayodele Ayodeji (AY), the Director of Welfare, Comrade Sofiat Yusuf, and the Chief Press Secretary to NANS Ondo JCC Chairman, Chief Comrade Feyijimi Stephen Salau, among others.
