The Honourable Commissioner for Commerce and Industry in Osun State, Rev. Bunmi Jenyo recently added another feather to his cap, clinching the award of ‘Integrity Stewardship Service Ambassador’.
The honour which the Advocates for Peace and Values Re-Orientation, Abuja bestowed on the Commissioner is once in every four years, according to the organizers.
The event took place at the conference hall, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government Secretariat, Abere.
The Abuja-based five-man team of Advocacy for Peace and Values Re-Orientation led by the Executive Director, Mr. Abubakar Oyibo, accompanied by the Zonal Coordinator South- South, Osun State Coordinator, Zonal Coordinator North Central and Zonal Coordinator South West.
While speaking, Mr. Abubakar Oyibo explained that the criteria for the award ranged from the assessment of Rev. Jenyo in the display of Ethical Leadership, Developmental Policy Performance, Obedience to Rule of Law, Work Ethical Compliance, Commitment to Local Government Policy Reforms, Commitment to State Government Transformation Agenda and Community Peace Building and Conflict Resolution.
According to Mr. Abubakar, “the presence of your political aides here, as announced at your resumption to the office as the Commissioner, is an evidence of excellent leadership qualities, which our organization is craving, in the political landscape of Nigeria”.
“We are indeed very proud of you and your numerous accomplishments for the advancement of humanity, not only in your Local Government or State but across the globe, where your stints as a great leader, is in the obvious”.
Responding, Rev. Jenyo who dedicated the award after GOD, to the Executive Governor of Osun State, Gov Ademola Adeleke, appreciated the Advocates for recognizing him, even though he had never met them as a person.
According to the Commissioner, flanked by his adorable wife, Mrs Olusola Omotunde Jenyo, “I thank you for this recognition even as it was not solicited. Some people crave awards but I believe as leaders, our works should speak for us. This is a credence to the fact that people are watching us, and there are rewards for good deeds and excellent performance”, he said.
At the occasion were the Special Adviser to the Governor on Diaspora and Investment, Hon. Felix Olalekan, Senior Special Assistants to the Governor on Religious Matters, Hon. Wasiu Alebiosu, Islamic Matters, Hon. Bello Raufu (Bosere), Chambers of Commerce, Hon. Wasiu Ogundokun, Market Affairs, Hon. Moyoade Lukman and some Special Assistants to the Governor.
Others are the management team of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry led by the Director of Industry, Mr. Tajudeen Adigun.
