A Security Expert and CEO of Beacon Security Firm, Dr Kabir Adamu reacting to the killing of 16 soldiers in the Okuama community of Delta state has alleged that there are ways in which the military can track down the perpetrators in a few days.
He poInted out to distinctive markers, such as the hallmark removal of a soldier’s head, which is associated with specific criminals known within the Okuama community.
As an intelligence operative, he stressed the importance of integrating such details into a comprehensive forensic investigation, facilitating the identification of suspects.
He advocated for a collaborative approach in which intelligence operatives and community members collaborate to compile pertinent information and construct visual profiles of potential perpetrators.
By systematically analyzing these profiles, investigators can initiate targeted inquiries aimed at unraveling the identity of the people behind the killing.
So many security experts have shared the belief that the Okuama community has a key part to play in identifying the killers of the four senior officers and 12 soldiers.
A Former Coordinator of Defence Media Operations, Major General John Enenche has also argued that the Community must provide intelligence to the military as quickly as possible in order to douse the tension.
According to him, withholding critical information to apprehend the perpetrators could aggravate the situation.
He said in an interview with Channels TV, ”There are evidences that can be gathered that will help us in unraveling the situation. For example, the removal of the soldiers head is a trademark, there are certain criminals in Okuama who do that and the people know them.
Those are things you look out for in a forensic investigation as an intelligence operative, you map them out together and come up with pictures so that you can now start looking into them to unravel.
There is a total agreement that those culprits should be brought out and I think the earlier that the community supports that and bring them out, the better for everybody.”
