… attends service of songs, says politics shouldn’t tear us apart
His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri, Governor of Bayelsa State today has commiserated and attended the service of songs of the late Tarebulou-ere Etolor.
Mrs. Tarebulou-ere Etolor (Nee Oziti) who died at the age of 56 years is wife to former Ekeremor Council Chairman and a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Robinson Etolor.
The Governor in his condolence message described late Tarebulou-ere as a kind woman.
The Governor stressed the need for the people of the State to be more Bayelsans than members of their political affiliation, stating that death has no colouration.
“We all recognise that one day, we will all end like this, the day and time is not known to any man that’s why the bible encourages us to love one another and remove the bitterness that has existed in this State.
Politics should not tear us apart, we are in politics to develop this State and not to become enemies that’s why I believe that for events such as this and any other event, we should remove our political party togas and see ourselves from the same Bayelsa State and from the same Local Government Areas that we all are.
The chief mourner today is my brother from my maternal community of Ayamassa. As I got in here I saw a lot of my brothers from that community and a lot from Ekeremor. And so we can belong to any political party but death today has affected all of us.
So, we want to on behalf of the Government of Bayelsa State and the people of the State commiserate with my brother, former Chairman of Ekeremor Local Government Area who has held several other offices for the loss of this very kind woman”, Governor Diri stated.
