One of the Governorship hopeful on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Brigadier General Felix Olamide Ohunyeye (Rtd) has said that he is the most prepared and most qualified to be elected as the next Governor of Ondo State.
He made this statement when addressing the large crowd of party faithfuls at his campaign headquarters in Akure. He said that “As it is today in the history of our nation, there is no day that you will not hear the news of kidnapping and killing of innocent Nigerians arising from insecurity. Our farmers can no longer go to their farmers because of security of their lives. This has led to high cost of food. When there is no security of lives and properties, there won’t be peace and progress. Life will become unbearable. I am a trained military General, I can assure you all that collaboration with our president and presidency, I shall bring to bare my military experience to make sure that there shall no more killings and everyone will go out for his/her lawful duties without fear of attack, intimidation, and killings”.
“Again, as a management expert and economist, I will work with various organisations and agencies to ensure we earn value for our money. We shall reduce level of unemployment and poverty in our state. Our resources shall be judicious used to better the lots of good people of Ondo State. I shall worked with the Federal Government to tap into most of our natural resources so as to create job opportunities for our teeming youths. Our women shall be assisted with Interest free loans to start businesses that can provide succour for their home. Many of our women are being chased around by LAPO and small small microfinance organisations. Some have died because of hypertension arising from their inability to pay back these loans. This shall stop when you people voted for me as the next Governor of Ondo State. I shall make sure that the our party leaders and executives who are part of good people of Ondo State enjoy the dividends of democracy. You will not be abandoned, you will be part of government because it is your government”
Those at the meeting, party leaders and other well wishers reiterated their commitment to support Dr. Felix Olamide Ohunyeye in the April 2024 primary election and vowed to vote for him as the candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC). They said that he should not listen to those making noise around as they will be shocked by the outcome of the primary election.
Prayers were held for the success of Brigadier General Felix Olamide Ohunyeye to round up the meeting.
