APC leaders and elders in Iyometa community Ikare-Akoko on Saturday, 16, December, 2023 converged under the Chairmanship of Pa(Comrade) B. O Adalumo to welcome and interact with Dr Muyiwa Olusa the leading aspirant in the bye-election for the position of House of Representatives, Akoko North-East/Akoko North-West Federal.

Presenting his manifesto, Dr Muyiwa Olusa highlighted the need for all sons and daughters of Akoko, especially politicians, to close ranks and endeavour to sustain the unity of Akoko above personal and political interest. “We should be focussed on developing Akoko and making Akokoland a place of pride, ” he said.
He enjoined the leaders to enlist the support of the Iyometa community for his candidature by considering his pedigree and his thirteen-point manifesto.
Dr. Olusa further stated his manifesto, as follows: Fostering digital literacy, fintech and youth entrepreneurship; empowering farmers and interested constituents for increased harvests; supporting public schools, training for teachers, and literacy programmes; boosting healthcare institutions, especially primary health centres; providing social support for seniors, and continuous dialogue with leaders across the constituency, among others.
The Facilitator of the meeting Chief Bode Ojuolape spoke glowingly about Dr. Muyiwa Olusa. In his testimony, he stated that Olusa has the qualifications and the pedigree to perform excellently well in the National Assembly. He said the aspirant had paid his due to the party by his commitment and steadfastness despite being unfairly denied the ticket in 2019.
He described Dr Olusa as a man of integrity, an honest politician and a dependable leader.
According to Chief Bode Ojuolape, Dr Olusa is “an oasis in the desert, so different from the deceptive politicians all around us. He is straightforward and always keeps his promises. I can vouch for him”
The former Vice Chairman of Akoko North-East, Mr Folorunso Adeniyi who moderated at the meeting, also threw his support for Dr Olusa He said the leaders of the party in the community have bought into his candidature and manifesto, adding that, they would mobilise and work to ensure his victory at the bye-election.
In his remarks, Pa (Comrade) B.O. Adalumo stated that, despite the agitation to return the House of Representative seat to Ikare- Akoko, it is paramount to allow a competent hand from Akoko North-West to complete the tenure of Hon Olubunmi Tunji- Ojo who had vacated the seat to assume a ministerial position.
He expressed confidence in the ability of Dr Muyiwa Olusa to perform well due to his qualification as a Legislative Drafter, his antecedent and his commitment to Akoko development.
Pa Adalumo assured him of the support of the Iyometa community, encouraged him to remain steadfast in his aspiration and prayed for his success.
The well-attended meeting was a convergence of APC stalwarts and policymakers in the Iyometa community.
