Up to five Commissioners have resigned their appointments from the Executive Council of Rivers state.
They include Commissioner for Social Welfare Inime Aguma, Commissioner for Works Dr. Kelly George, Commissioner for Finance Isaac Kamalu, Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Prof. Zaccheaus Adangor.
The latest among them to resign under Governor Sim Fubara is the Commissioner for Education, Prof. Prince Mmom.
The Commissioner disclosed his decision via a letter in Port Harcourt, the state capital said: “I hereby resign my appointment as the Commissioner for Education, Rivers State for personal reasons.
“I wish to express my sincere appreciation to you for the opportunity given to me to serve in your administration and wish you the best as you carry on with the government of our dear state.”
Also, the governor’s Chief of Staff Chukwuemeka Woke had resigned.
Basically, their mass resignation might be unconnected to the feud between Fubara and former governor Nyesom Wike, who is currently the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory.
