In light of recent political developments in Ondo State and the prevailing circumstances surrounding the transition of power, the Ondo State Youth Network urges Acting Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa to prioritize the interests of the people during his tenure.
Acknowledging the complexities that have unfolded in the past months, the group, as represented by Coordinator Afe Adegboyega thanking Mr. President Asiwaju Bola Tinubu for his intervention, emphasizes the need for Acting Governor Aiyedatiwa to rise above political challenges and concentrate on fostering the welfare and development of the citizens of Ondo State.
The public is well aware that governance has faced challenges in the absence of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu due to health issues, coupled with the delay in transmitting power to the Deputy Governor as mandated by law.
In a statement, Adegboyega stressed the importance of resuming stalled projects, particularly in road construction, and addressing critical sectors such as education and healthcare, which require immediate attention. Additionally, the group highlights the significance of prioritizing economic-driven projects like bitumen exploration for the overall benefit of the state.
“While we extend our prayers for Governor Rotimi Akeredolu’s sound health, we advise Acting Governor Aiyedatiwa to fulfill his role as a responsible deputy in the absence of the Governor,” remarked Adegboyega.
The Ondo State Youth Network remains committed to encouraging constructive governance and calls on all stakeholders to focus on the collective well-being of the people, setting aside political jamboree for the benefit of the state.
