In a surprising turn of events, the embattled state Chairman of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) in Abia State, Uluocha Nelcinn Chiemezuo, has been suspended from his position. The decision was made by the Abia YPP State Working Committee, who cited various reasons for their action.
In a letter addressed to the National Chairman of the YPP, the State Working Committee outlined the misconduct and anti-party activities allegedly committed by Chiemezuo. These include denying party stakeholders support and funding during the 2023 general elections, intimidation of fellow executive members, and abuse of office. The committee also expressed concern over Chiemezuo’s acceptance of an appointment as SSA on Revenue and Policy Formulation to Chief Victor Ikeji, a member of the opposition party Labour Party (LP).
Recall that we had earlier reported how the embattled chairman of the Youth Progressive Party accepted SSA appointments by the Technical Committee Chairman of Umuahia North lga which sparked controversy across the Abia media space some days ago.

They have removed him from office, in accordance with the party’s constitution. The committee emphasized that the YPP Abia State Chapter should not be run as an individual’s personal business.
