“IF YOU ARE EMOTIONALLY ATTACHED TO YOUR TRIBE, RELIGION OR POLITICAL LEANING TO THE POINT THE TRUTH AND JUSTICE BECOME SECONDARY CONSIDERATIONS, YOUR EDUCATION IS USELESS. YOUR EXPOSURE IS USELESS. IF YOU CANNOT REASON BEYOND YOUR PETTY SENTIMENTS, YOU’RE A LIABILITY TO MAKIND”

The social media has been polluted with an apology letter poportedly written by the President of AKOKO NORTH EAST YOUTH FORUM (ANEF)
Safe from the sensitivity of this period and some contents of the letter, we would not have found any reason(S) to reply to such a watery apology.
It is against the rule of logic to probate and reprobate at the same time. It is also not just a crime against humanity to twist facts but an act of cruelty.
As youth with great vision, purpose and bright future, we have often called for a formidable stronghold where we can all dine and wine with one another irrespective of our political, religious, ethnic or academic standpoint.
It is indeed very disheartening that some of us have allowed our intellectual thoughts be fingered and tampered with and as such manipulated.
In the words of the Akoko North East President (ANEF) , *”I have received many calls from my friends and well-wishers on this issue which has generated alot of controversies among the people….”* The question is, who are these backward people who saw wrong in a youth attending the wedding of another youth?
The President even further called them”friends and well-wishers” but unfortunately, they are nothing but enemies of progress. What kind of “FRIEND” sees evil in celebrating a memorable day with another? Such fellow/people is/are best discribed as enemies!
No REASONABLE Individual with any moral sense will find fault in attending a wedding ceremony, especially one was duly invited for.
For the sake of clarity, a wedding ceremony according to OXFORD DICTIONARY, is *” an act, process, or instance of joining in close Association”*. We are still in shock how this is termed a political gathering.
In an ordinary sense, *a marriage is the process of joining a man and a woman together*
It is better imagined than witnessed, how those people who bullied the President to apologise would use powers if they eventually have one.
It is even an act against ÌWÀ ỌMỌLÚWÀBÍ to dissociate yourself or advise others to dissociate themselves from celebrating a day such as that with your kinsman on the basis of belonging or having different political thought.
Furthermore, the President wrote *”… What seemed to be a harmless invitation turned out to be a trap”* this is not only laughable but highly disappointing. The question is, was he at any point called for ANY meeting, whether political or not, during the ceremony or even after?
It becomes very germain to question the thoughtfulness of those raising the accusation!
Even the big game players in the political scene attends functions and celebrate with each other. In fact, despite their differences in political affiliations, they still allowed their children to exchange marital vows. Someone who castigate another for attending a wedding can cause disharmony in any peaceful community and such persons deserves to be ostracised without any hope of return!
While it is clear from the tone of the apology letter that the president was really pressured to make such an apology, we must be reminded that humanity should preceed anything we call interest!
We like to use this medium to discourage members of the public from wasting their times on these attention seekers who sees no good in having a day of joy.
It should be borne in mind that no one goes up by pulling others down. These desperate moves by some unprepared policians to mallign the intention of the celebrant is sign of weakness on their side!
It is important to emphasise once again that instead of preaching hate.
LET LOVE LEAD!
