Former Military Head of States General Yakubu Gowon is dead. Passes on at the age of 89.
He was a retired Nigerian Army General and a Military Head of State.
As a Nigeria Military head of state, Gen. Gowon presided over the Nigerian Civil War and delivered the famous “no victor, no vanquished” speech at the war’s end to promote healing and reconciliation.
He’s the brain behind the National Youth Corp Service Scheme (NYSC).
Rest in peace the peaceful Gen. Gowon.
