There are indications that the Federal Government has summoned an emergency meeting with the leaders of the Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, and the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria, TUC, in a desperate move to avert their planned nationwide strike from October 3.
Peoplesmind learnt that the meeting is scheduled to hold later Friday evening at Aso Villa, Conference Room of the Office of the Chief of Staff to the President.
Sources claimed that the federal government had earlier fixed the meeting for 12 noon but moved it to evening to enable the unions reach out to their leaders outside Abuja.
Another source informed Newsmen that the NLC and its TUC counterpart received the governmentโs invitation through the Ministry of Labour and Employment on Friday morning.
