Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force, Kwara State Command, have been accused of dumping a foreign student in the University of Ilorin, identified as Theophilus Blamoh, in front of his hotel around Total Filling Station, Tanke Oke Odo Area, Ilorin, after he got unconscious while in their custody.Speaking from his hospital bed, the victim, a student of the Performing Arts Department, stated that he was with two of his friends when they were approached by police officers who ordered them to enter their vehicle.
According to him, the officers recognised one of the students and requested him to leave while instructing him and his friend to enter their vehicle. He claimed that the officers requested for their phones, which they handed over.
He claimed that after the officers searched their phones and found nothing incriminating, they turned to his companion and asked him why he wasn’t into “Yahoo Yahoo.”
Blamoh further stated that he urged his friend not to answer the question, which irritated the officers, who then allegedly began punching him. He claimed that the officers drove them to the station, seized their phones, and then threw them in the cell.
The young man claimed he felt unconscious inside the cell, at which point authorities dragged him out and dumped him at his hostel.
