Hon.(Dr.) Timehin Adelegbe, the Honourable member representing Owo/ Ose Federal Constituency in the National Assembly Abuja, has felicitated with all Nigerians, especially his constituents of Owo/ Ose Federal Constituency on the occasion of the country’s independence from Great Britain.“Our dear Nation, Nigeria got her independence from Great Britain on October 1st,1960. And today the Nation is now 62 years old. Let me use this opportunity to wish all Nigerians especially my constituents in Owo/ Ose Federal Constituency, a happy independence day. We have come a long way as a nation”.
The Member House of Representatives Committee on Budget and Appropriation, while felicitating with Nigerians on the occasion of Our independence noted that though since independence, the country has been faced with some surmountable challenges such as leadership problem, ethnicity and tribalism, Insecurity, inflation, banditry, corruption, bribery, unemployment, economic hardship, and other social vices and ills in the country, he said that the country shall be great and that this the period we should continue having unwavering hope in the future of Our country.
“As a country, we have our challenges since independence. I must sincerely reiterate the fact that this is the time, all of us should have unwavering faith and demonstrate a high level of patriotism towards the emancipation and consolidation of Nigeria to secure a better and improved nation for us and our unborn generations”.
” What we need to move forward in Nigeria is Peace, Unity, Tolerance and Justice. We have come a long way to develop and secure our nation for a better living. This is the period for us to ruminate on where we are going as a nation, and the kind of society we desired”.
The Banker turned politician noted that with these set of challenges bedeviling the country, Nigeria has achieved many achievements since independence and the that the country has become the centre piece of the African Nations. He asserted that Nigeria which is the giant of Africa shall continue to flourish and retain her giant position not only in Africa but in the global committee of Nations.
While rejoicing with Nigerians, the Okeluse born Political Strategist enjoined the people to be peaceful as the country is moving toward another general election come next year.
“I enjoined everyone of us to be peaceful and remain calm as the country is drawing near to another round of electing her leaders. We must be very cautious and vigilant especially this period of election campaign”.
He therefore used the opportunity to pray for a better Nigeria for all of us.
