I am compelled to address a malicious and false report that has been circulating about Comrade Olatunji Emmanuel, the former SUG President of Federal Polytechnic Ilaro. The report claims that he was arrested for cultism in 2019, and it is being used to blackmail him as he contests for the position of NANS AGS.
However, I can categorically state that this report is being taken out of context and is being used to mislead the public. Yes, it is true that Comrade Olatunji Emmanuel was arrested on a Sunday morning in 2019, and he was indeed accused of cultism. But what the blackmailers are not telling you is that he was later exonerated and cleared of all charges.
It was discovered that Comrade Olatunji Emmanuel was actually set up by his political enemies, who were jealous of his rising profile and popularity. They orchestrated a false accusation against him, hoping to damage his reputation and destroy his career. But fortunately, the truth came to light, and he was vindicated.
It is unfortunate that some of his opponents, who he had defeated in the SUG election, have resorted to blackmailing him with this false report. While some leaders are trying to use this to discredit him and undermine his candidacy for NANS Nations AGS. But I can assure you that Comrade Olatunji Emmanuel is a man of integrity and character, and he will not be deterred by these baseless allegations.
What is even more surprising is that the same set of people who stood by him and supported his candidacy for NANS Southwest (Zone D) Coordinator around 2021 are now the ones defaming him. They are doing this because they see him as a threat to their anointed aspirant for NANS National AGS. It is clear that their support for him back then was not based on his character or qualifications, but rather on their own selfish interests.
It is ironic that these individuals who once praised and supported Comrade Olatunji Emmanuel are now trying to bring him down with false and malicious reports. If they truly believed that he was involved in cultism, why did they stand by him and support his candidacy for NANS Southwest Coordinator? Why did they not speak out against him then? It is clear that their actions are motivated by a desire to protect their own interests and to promote their preferred candidate for NANS National AGS.
I urge all leaders and senators to disregard this false report and not to listen to the propaganda being spread by Comrade Olatunji Emmanuel’s opponents. He is a capable and visionary leader who has the potential to make a positive impact in the student movement. Let us not allow false and malicious reports to distract us from the real issues at hand.
Comrade Olatunji Emmanuel, also known as Teejay, is a born leader who has been destined for greatness. He will achieve what God has sent him to do, and no amount of blackmail or propaganda will stop him. I am proud to stand by him and to support his candidacy for NANS AGS.
