The Nigeria Police have apprehended numerous suspects involved in various crimes nationwide, recovering 134 firearms, 1,012 rounds of ammunition, 56 stolen vehicles, and other dangerous weapons.
Force Public Relations Officer Olumuyiwa Adejobi revealed the arrests during a press briefing in Abuja on Wednesday. He detailed that 179 armed robbery suspects, 100 kidnapping suspects, 152 murder/homicide suspects, 34 suspects for unlawful firearm possession, 77 rape suspects, and 110 cultists were taken into custody during coordinated operations.
The police also successfully rescued 22 kidnapping victims across the country.
Among the suspects is Muhammed Kabir and his accomplices, Donald Okpere and Haruna Ibrahim, who were arrested for impersonating military personnel and defrauding victims of millions of naira. The gang reportedly used fake bank alerts to purchase gadgets and medical equipment.
