The National Association of Ilaje Students as condemn and reject the the nomination of Ogunmola Charles as members of NDDC, executive director of project. In a Telephone chat with the National president of the Association, Comrade Agbejoye Kehinde Oluwatomisin, he expressed his total dissatisfaction about the New developement, he however call on all leaders and stakeholders in Ilaje to look into the new development most especially the Gov. Akeredolu.
He further added, stating
Ojingiri Hannah was right to have opined that: āchallenging yourself to always do the right thing is the greatest challengeā.
Doing the right thing is one of the most optimistic and decisive things to do as it not only makes one feel good but also makes one proud. It is an honorable and excellent prospect to do something for the present generation and the ones yet unborn; for doing the right thing may be thrilling at times, but always peaceful in its outcomes.
On this note, the National Body of the National Association Of Ilaje Students having studied the rationale behind the creation of the Niger Delta Development Commission ( a commission created largely as an answer to the demands of the population of the Niger Delta, oil-producing regions only, the populous area occupied by a variety of minority ethnic groups), and find some of its modus Operandi to be seeing to the development of the region through proper representation, formulation of policies, tackling ecological and environmental problems that arise from the exploration of oil minerals in the region, and advising the Federal Government and the member states on the prevention and control of oil spillages, gas flaring, and environmental Pollution
All the aforementioned can and will only be seen effectively by only an individual who shares the same despair with ours, as ‘Only the wearer knows where the shoe pinches,ā and that subpoenas our SAYING NO to the Nomination of Charles Ogunmola, who is only not from the region but also doesn’t knows our suffering as the Executive Director Project of the NDDC, South-West.
In his further explanation, stating the NDDC establishment act, 2000 which stated at part IV section 12(1), that ”There shall be for commission, a Managing Director, and two Executive Director who shall be indigenes of oil producing areas starting with the member states of the Commission with the highest production quantum of oil and shall rotate amongst member states in the other of production”.
As Nature is always playing its part in the law of nature, which is ultimately the law of rights, it is pertinent that we allow our Constitution and the act which birthed the Commission respect to appointing its Representatives, for happy is the man that knows what’s right and does what’s right for he wouldn’t get into any form of quagmire thereafter.
Therefore, we are rejecting the nomination/appointment of Charles Ogunmola, an indigene of Owo local government which neither produces oil or suffer the consequences of oil exploration.
He added
