The leadership of the Edo State chapter of the All Progressive Congress, APC, said it has reclaimed the party’s secretariat four years after it was allegedly taken from it by the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.
The caretaker committee chairman of PDP, Dr Anthony Aziegbemi, and the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Blessing Agbebaku, were at the premises of the secretariat when the APC took over the building.
Jarret Tenebe, the Acting State chairman of the party disclosed this to newsmen shortly after taking over the secretariat located at 59, Airport Road, Benin City.
Tenebe alleged that the party was forcefully evicted from the secretariat four years ago by the People’s Democratic Party.
He alleged that the property rightfully belonged to the APC as they had renewed the rent for a period of 7 years before the PDP, with the help of Gov Godwin Obaseki, forcefully took it from them.
He said the taking over of the secretariat from PDP was one of his promises to the party when he assumed the position of the State Acting Chairman.
