The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) has recommended a standardized salary structure for healthcare workers to reduce brain drain in the sector. NMA Vice-President Dr. Benjamin Olowojebutu highlighted that equitable pay, region-adjusted salaries, and career progression incentives could retain talent, ensuring a resilient healthcare system. He noted that over 50% of Nigeria’s doctors have emigrated in the past decade, stressing the need for government commitment to workforce welfare and sustainable healthcare investment.
