Nigerian Police School teachers have expressed frustration over the non-payment of their salaries for 33 months, despite being on extended service following the government’s increase in the retirement age from 60 to 65.
While their salaries were restored in November 2023 under the current Force Education Officer, ACP Ibidapo Oludare, their arrears remain unpaid, and unexplained deductions have appeared in their salaries. The affected teachers, struggling with financial hardship and debt, accused former Education Officer DCP Rabi Umar (retd.) of delaying the implementation of the service extension policy.
Teachers fear they may lose their unpaid salaries when the five-year service extension ends in November 2026. They have appealed for urgent intervention, citing significant financial and emotional challenges caused by the prolonged delay.
