The Turaki of Ilorin and Senator representing Kwara Central in the National Assembly, Senator Saliu Mustapha, has expressed deep shock and heartfelt sympathy over the fire that engulfed some shops at the popular Ita-Amoh Market in the Ilorin West Local Government Area of Kwara State, on Friday night.
In a statement issued by his media aide, Nasif Sholagberu, Senator Mustapha extended his heartfelt condolences to the affected traders and their families, lamenting the substantial loss of goods worth millions of naira caused by the inferno.
Acknowledging the devastating impact on the livelihoods of those dependent on the traders, Senator Mustapha shared in the grief of the victims and urged them to remain strong during this challenging time.
He praised the swift response and professionalism of firefighters, as well as the support of local residents, in containing the fire.
The Senator also emphasized the need for greater adherence to safety measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
Senator Mustapha offered prayers for the traders, asking Almighty Allah to provide them with the strength to endure this difficult period and the means to recover their losses.
