The Kwara State Commissioner of Police, Victor Olaiya, has urged 96 newly promoted officers to uphold professionalism in crime-fighting and strengthen community relations in line with global best practices.
Speaking at the decoration ceremony held at the command’s headquarters in Ilorin, CP Olaiya emphasized that the promotions reflect the officers’ dedication and hard work, calling for increased accountability and commitment to public safety in the state. Among those decorated was the command’s spokesperson, Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, who was elevated to the rank of Superintendent of Police (SP).
“The promotion exercise is a testament to their diligence and dedication to duty, which demands even greater responsibility in safeguarding the lives and property of Kwara residents,” the CP noted.
Key Promotions:
Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP): Mukaila Yusuf (DPO, C Division).
Chief Superintendents of Police (CSP): Fourteen officers, including Olufemi Abraham (O/C Anti-Kidnapping Unit, SCID), Nkama Onyekwere Oko (A/Cmd, Ilofa), and Babatunde Lateef (DPO, Afon Division).
Superintendents of Police (SP): Four officers, including Adetokunbo Aladejare (O/C Legal, SCID), Ihyom Aondongusha (DTO, F Division, Tanke), Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi (PPRO, Kwara Police Command), and Ahmed Bata Mohammed (O/C Provost, 15PMF).
Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSP): Seventy-seven officers, including Orogbemi Dupe (2I/C, Chaplaincy), Yusuf Zaharaddeen Chiri (P.A. to CP Kwara), and Idachaba Laraba Enemona (Legal Dept., SCID).
CP Olaiya expressed gratitude to the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, and the Police Service Commission Chairman, Hashimu Salihu Argungu, for prioritizing the welfare of officers.
In a statement, the newly promoted SP and command spokesperson, Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, reaffirmed the Kwara Police Command’s commitment to protecting lives and property while seeking continued public support in combating crime.
