Nigeria’s Warri Refinery restarts operations, promising increased local oil refining capacity and reduced dependence on imports.
The Warri Refining and Petrochemicals Company (WRPC), with a capacity of 125,000 barrels per day, has officially begun operations.
This announcement was made by Mele Kyari, the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), during a facility tour on Monday.
According to Peoplesmind, this development follows the recent rehabilitation of the Port Harcourt refinery in Rivers State, which occurred just a month prior.
During the tour, Kyari emphasized that while the plant is not yet fully operational, it is indeed functioning, countering skepticism about the feasibility of such projects in Nigeria.
