Manchester City is gearing up for a busy festive season, and that means no Christmas break for the team. According to captain Kyle Walker, the team will be training on Christmas Day this year, ahead of their Boxing Day match against Everton.
Walker shared that this is a change from the previous couple of seasons, when the team had Christmas Day off. However, with an early kickoff against Everton on December 26, the team needs to stay focused and prepared.
This intense training schedule is likely a strategic move by manager Pep Guardiola, who’s known for his demanding approach to the game. In fact, Guardiola has previously stated that his team will prepare for the Everton match “like it is not Christmas time”.
Manchester City is currently facing a tøugh season, having won only one game in their last 12 matches. With key games against Leicester City and West Ham coming up, the team will need all the practice they can get to get back on track.
