Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has officially disbanded all commissions within the state public service.
This decision was communicated on Tuesday via a statement from the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilo, indicating that the dissolution is effective immediately.
The commissions affected by this action include the Edo State Independent Electoral Commission (EDSIEC), the Civil Service Commission, the Edo State Oil and Gas Producing Areas Development Commission, the Edo State Forestry Commission, the House of Assembly Service Commission, the State Audit Service Commission, and the Judicial Service Commission.
The statement also instructed all chairpersons and members of these commissions to return any government property in their possession to the highest-ranking public officials.
