Thousands of Microsoft 365 users around the world experienced issues with services like Outlook and Teams on Monday.
Many affected customers reported problems with accessing emails, loading calendars, and opening other applications such as PowerPoint, with complaints flooding platforms like Downdetector and social media.
Microsoft acknowledged the issue, noting it was impacting users’ ability to access Exchange Online and certain features in Microsoft Teams calendars. The company identified a “recent change” that appeared to be the cause and began working to reverse it.
Microsoft reported deploying a fix, which had reached approximately 98% of affected environments by noon ET.
However, the fix’s progress was slower than anticipated for most users, and as of midday, thousands of outage reports were still being logged, especially for Outlook.
