President-elect Donald Trump has selected two former administration officials, Alex Wong and Sebastian Gorka, to join his national security team for his second term. Gorka will serve as deputy assistant to the president and senior director for counterterrorism, while Wong will take on the role of assistant to the president and principal deputy national security advisor.
Trump made the announcement through a statement issued by his transition team, praising both individuals for their significant contributions during his first term.
Gorka, a legal immigrant with over 30 years of national security experience, previously served as a strategist to the president.
Trump highlighted Gorka’s dedication to the America First Agenda and the MAGA Movement. Wong, who was instrumental in organizing the summit between Trump and Kim Jong Un, will continue his work in national security.
He previously held positions such as deputy special representative for North Korea and deputy assistant secretary for East Asian and Pacific affairs at the State Department.
