The PDP Governors’ Forum expresses confidence in overcoming the party’s current challenges and returning to strength in the near future.
Governors affiliated with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have asserted that the party continues to be a significant political entity in Nigeria.
Bala Mohammed, the Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum and Governor of Bauchi State, expressed this viewpoint following a meeting held in Jos on Saturday.
He emphasized the party’s resilience in overcoming its challenges, characterizing current difficulties as minor and temporary.
Mohammed urged supporters of the PDP and the general public to maintain their faith in the party, acknowledging concerns regarding perceived divisions within its ranks.
He reaffirmed the Forum’s commitment to fostering unity and cohesion, highlighting the PDP as a trusted platform for democratic governance.
Additionally, he called for the National Working Committee to convene a meeting of the National Executive Council to address internal issues and praised the contributions of PDP members in the National Assembly towards democratic development.
He also urged the National Assembly leadership to thoroughly evaluate proposed legislation to ensure fairness and equity.
Furthermore, he expressed concern over the nation’s economic crisis, urging President Bola Tinubu to reassess his administration’s economic policies for the benefit of Nigerians, while also commending Governor Caleb Mutfwang for his hospitality and expressing sympathy for the recent fire incident in Plateau State.
