The former governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, has initiated what he refers to as a post-tenure vacation.
He indicated that this period would allow him to rest and undergo comprehensive medical evaluations.
This information was shared by his spokesperson, Crusoe Osagie, in a statement released on Wednesday.
Osagie noted that Obaseki expressed gratitude to God and the citizens of Edo State and Nigeria for the privilege of serving.
He encouraged all Edo residents, both locally and abroad, to maintain hope and pray for the peace, progress, and prosperity of the state and the nation.
Obaseki completed his two-term tenure of eight years on November 11, following the transition of power to Monday Okpebholo. Okpebholo, who triumphed over the PDP candidate, Asue Ighodalo, and Olumide Akpata from the Labour Party, was sworn in as the new governor of Edo State on Tuesday.
