Governor Alia announces the reinstatement of Benue’s Attorney General, focusing on legal stability and state governance.”
Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has reinstated Fidelis Mnyim, the state’s Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice and Public Order, lifting his suspension on Monday.
This decision was communicated during a state executive council meeting held in Makurdi, the capital of Benue State.
Mnyim had been suspended on October 23 due to his unilateral action of including the state in a lawsuit questioning the legality of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).
Following his withdrawal of the state from this legal challenge, Tersoo Kula, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, confirmed that Mnyim fulfilled the necessary conditions for his reinstatement.
