Jared Kushner, President-elect Donald Trump’s son-in-law, will not take on a role in the second Trump administration, according to a report from the Financial Times on Friday.
However, he may still offer his expertise on Middle East policy. Kushner, who is married to Ivanka Trump, served as one of Trump’s senior advisers from 2017 to 2021, and played a key role in shaping policy during the first administration.
As the former director of the Office of American Innovation, Kushner was instrumental in developing the Trump administration’s peace plan for the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
He also helped broker the Abraham Accords, a series of peace agreements signed in 2020 between Israel and several Arab nations. While he will not return to the White House, his involvement in Middle East diplomacy may continue in an advisory capacity.
