President Bola Tinubu has called on media managers to emphasize factual reporting and uphold professional integrity in their work.
Tinubu made this call during his address at the All Nigerian Editors Conference in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, with the theme, *“Economic Growth and Development Strategies in a Resource-Rich Country.”*
Speaking through the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, President Tinubu stressed the vital role of the media in shaping national development and public perception. He noted that media professionals are key in helping the public understand government actions and the nation’s challenges.
He urged editors and media managers to be truthful in their reporting, engage constructively with the public, and support the government’s efforts to transform the country’s challenges into opportunities.
“My administration is focused on ensuring that Nigeria’s vast resources bring prosperity to all citizens,” Tinubu stated. “With collective effort from the government, citizens, and the media, we can build a strong, diversified economy that offers security, opportunity, and hope for every Nigerian.”
Additionally, the President emphasized that Nigeria’s human and natural resources have the potential to propel the country to greater prosperity, and he vowed to lead efforts to unlock that potential.
“I believe this is the question Nigerians elected me to answer decisively,” Tinubu concluded, reaffirming his vision for a prosperous future for the country.
