President Bola Tinubu has been charged by Paul Ibe, the spokesperson for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), 2023 presidential nominee Atiku Abubakar, of attempting to impose dictatorship by attempting to dismantle the Labour Party and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).
According to Ibe, the action to dismantle the opposition party was taken because Tinubu intends to impose a one-party state in 2027.
He charged that the president was planning to retake power in 2027 while disregarding the plight of Nigerians.
Ibe emphasized that the former vice president is patriotic while refuting accusations that Atiku was self-centered in an interview with News Central TV. “Atiku’s decision to run is not selfish; rather, it is a show of patriotism,” he stated.
“Atiku was never selfish; he ran for office, won the PDP primary, and it was anticipated that all of the party’s members—including Wike, the current man-Friday of the APC administration—would be used to undermine the PDP and other opposition parties.
That is selfishness.” Atiku was patriotic and dedicated to Nigeria’s progress.
