Out of the 30,862 employees in the state, the Yobe State administration has confirmed the information for 20,763 civil servants.
While keeping an eye on the ongoing data collection effort in Damaturu, Hamidu M. Alhaji, the State’s Head of Service, revealed this to reporters.
He disclosed that because different Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) have not submitted their files, the data for 10,099 personnel is still unconfirmed.
The HoS emphasized the government’s resolve to remove ghost workers from its payroll and emphasized that the state would continue to seek to maintain an accurate personnel database.
The Head of Service promised that the results of the verification process will direct the state government’s subsequent actions, despite voicing concern over certain MDAs’ refusal to submit employee information.
Muhammad Abatcha Geidam, the State Commissioner of Finance, threatened to withhold future salaries from unconfirmed civil personnel.
