Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has approved N34 million in medical assistance for 46 residents as part of the state’s Medical Assistance Programme.
The initiative is designed to support individuals facing medical challenges but unable to afford the cost of treatment. Governor Aiyedatiwa, who was represented by the State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Banji Akaka, presented the cheques to the beneficiaries at the Ministry of Health in Akure on Tuesday.
In his remarks, Aiyedatiwa emphasized that his administration has always prioritized the well-being of its citizens. He urged the beneficiaries to ensure the funds are used for the intended medical expenses.
The state initially sought N230 million for the programme, but due to budgetary constraints, only N34 million was approved to assist 46 individuals. Dr. Akaka expressed gratitude for the governor’s compassionate approval and encouraged beneficiaries to take full advantage of the support. He also urged residents to enroll in the state’s health insurance scheme to ensure continued access to affordable healthcare in the future.
